Below are photos of the correct positions for the float in Profitec and ECM machines. The water tank float in ECM/Profitec machines machines can come out of it's housing if the cap is jostled and comes out of place. If this happens the machine will not initialize if it is set up in water tank mode.
Also, if the machine will not turn off even when the water tank runs out of water and the switch under the drip tray is in the correct position then the float may need to be repositioned so that the machine will turn off when the tank runs out of water. Once the magnet is reseated and the water tank refilled the machine should function normally. If the float is reseated correctly and water tank refilled but the machine refuses to turn on it may be time for a new water tank magnet.
